Strategic evaluation should be an included system within every church. We have not done much of this in many of our churches through the years. I know I tried in my early years, but felt very scattered. We knew all the pieces that should be functioning within the body, but got so mired up trying to develop them all that we never seemed to find the “win.” We would work halfway on one, then move to another, and never really accomplish our end result. After a lot of study, I think the key is to get your systems develped prior to launch, believe in them, assimilate them, and have them incarnationally down inside of you. An additional mentality you and I must develop is to subscribe to the phrase, Planned Abandonment. This is the guideline for all of us to make sure we never have any sacred cows and that we are continuing to be effective in our mission. In my estimation, one of best led and strategically evaluated ministries going, is Northpoint Church. They live it out every day with a passion to stay relevant enough to reach the large, large percentage of unreached people. IF any of our churches reach unreached people, we will always be evaluating and upgrading our system of strategic evaluation.
