I set out on a very enjoyable driving journey to go to South Carolina yesterday (Saturday). I speak in 5 different services this week at Westside Church with Pastor Scott Mackey. Scott is leading his people in a unique and creative way. The energy in this church is contagious! 
They have it going on! We must have had 10 or 12 people, this morning, cross the line of faith and follow Christ; a beautiful sight! We heard the testimony of a young man, 20 or so, who has been diagnosed with Leukemia. He has already found a matching bone-marrow donor, and was leaving church today to go see his wife and new baby in the hospital. When you look into the eyes of this guy, you see something called trust and hope. This is why he attacks life instead of it attacking him; He gets this thing about Jesus Christ! The look of the love of his mom and dad for him was captivating to me, personally! It was also good to visit with a senior adult in attendance who is helping plant a church called Metamorphosis in downtown Greenville. A very innovative name! We’re all in this thing together!
I already LOVE the people at Westside and quickly got into the rhythm of what they are doing there. There is something indescribable about feeling the pulse of the environment in a church where you speak; almost like being a part incarnationally for a few days. The beautiful rolling hills and beautiful weather in South Carolina today is gorgeous! There’s something about it, for sure. We’ll see what God has in store for the final 4 services! Pray for us.
