- Moral authority is an alignment of people seeing what you are saying. In others words, it’s an alignment of creed and deed.
- There can’t be a difference in what you say and what you do.
- Forgive and release it ALL, so you can lead.
- Don’t cheat your family. Cheat your ministry. There’s going to be another pastor of your church, but you’re the only dad your kids will ever have.
- Your job is to recognize a good idea. The 45 year old should listen to the 25 year old coming up with the idea.
- At 45, champion the next generation and their big ideas.
- Five ideas in my office:
To reach people no one else is reaching, we must do things no one else is doing. -Craig Groeschel
Take Away: Become preoccupied with those you haven’t reached as opposed to those you are trying to keep.
The Next Generation product almost never comes from the previous generation. –Focus, Al Reis
Take Away: Be a student not a critic.
What do I believe is imposible to do in my field…but if it could be done would fundamentally change my business? – Future Edge/The Paradigm Book, Joel Parker
Take Away: Pay attention to the people who are breaking the rule.
If we got kicked out and the board brought in a new CEO, what would he do? Why shouldn’t we walk out the door, come back in, and do it ourselves? –Only the Paranoid Survive, Andy Grove
Take Away: Acknowledge what’s not working and own up to why you are to do anything about it.
When your memories exceed your dreams, the end is near. -Michael Hammer
Take Away: Don’t let success overshadow your vision.
