We all have a heritage of some sort. The challenge is, we can be more true to tradition than we can to obedience if we are not careful. For example, I know of young couples that felt like God would have them step out and be a part of a movement of God that was contrary to what they were used to, church-wise, but did not. In other words, they were so true to being loyal to their parents’ desires or other influentials for ministry, that they felt that to step out in newness would be to dishonor them. Nothing wrong with honor, and it should be there, but when a step is not disobedience, we better take it regardless of our natural bent.
