One of the thoughts that people have who are considering being a part of a new church plant is “I’m happy where I am in my life and I am comfortable in my church.”  Here’s a question to consider: Is that kind of thinking allowing you to live life in such a way as to be missed?  Becoming a “missionary” in a new church plant has to be one of the top 5 bucket-listers in the world!  Here’s why: The first church God led me to pastor was Mount Rachel Church in Dalton, Georgia.  Those faithful folks in 1892 that planted the church did not live to see what, little did they know, would happen in the 90’s.  Over an eight-year span, we saw over 700 people cross the line of faith to follow Christ.  Mount Rachel today, led by Pastor Marty Green, continues to be a major influence in its town, region, and the world!  You never know when, how long it will take, or where God will use that seed you planted to change a world!  That planter team of 1892 was a part of the movement we were physically a part of!  That’s what your kids will remember about you.  It’s not just about going to church every week.  It’s about impact and others!  Did you attack life or let it come to you?  Those initial “launch teamers” in 1892 put a seedling in the ground that God would use for many years to come.  What about you?  Are you more concerned about being comfortable and satisfied, or missional and impacting?  Live life as to be missed!  Live life in sacrifice!  You will be glad you found a way to be a part of this church plant movement that is beginning to pick up speed unlike what I have seen in 20 years of ministry.  This one short life and it will soon be passed, only what is done for Christ will last!
