No doubt about it, we have all been coached in the church plant world that your first hires are your most important hires in launching a new church.  I heard Dr. Charles Stanley say years ago that he had stopped hiring based on ability and began hiring based on loyalty.  I would include with that, a chemistry, a like for the person, their heart, their attitude, and their passion.  I just summed up Jeff Gonzalez and his wife, Sonya.  They are fabulous people!  Literally, their walk with Christ challenges me, convicts me, and gives me hope of what I can become in Christ, with concentrated intensity toward our Lord.
