• I had a great time preaching yesterday for my friend Dusty McLemore at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church in Athens, Alabama.  This is a church, now, of 1,000 in attendance, BUT, listen carefully;  it was a church plant in 1988 with 63 people and by 1992 had declined to 32 people when Dusty became pastor.  God has done a great work in a few years!  What a healthy, loving, and sincere place to be!  A good lesson for us planters on sticking with it.
  • You know, God’s will is an interesting twist.  Can we do just one thing all of our lives?  Should we?  Should we and can we do multiple activities that all advance the kingdom of God?  You know, God’s work is God’s will.  Paul went to the next best place.  If you trace the maps in the Bible, he just went.  I think we make His will too complicated.  God does direct and order our steps………our job is to just walk slowly through the crowd, obey and listen, with half a blindfold over our eyes, because He never shows us the entire picture.
  • Friends with the love of God and mutual investment in each other’s lives makes for a great life.
  • I love what JD said last week: “I don’t want to be a part of something that puts denominational beliefs above Biblical beliefs.”  Believe it or not, this happens in our world.  Great word!
  • The devil can sideline you and me and sidetrack you and me.  Change your mind, change your life.
  • I love people, being around people, energy, excitement, motivation.  It feeds what I’m made of and causes creativity in me to flourish.
  • I stay amazed at the daily provision of God.
  • I was reminded and re-subscribed to this statement: “Church planting is the most effective way to reach unchurched people, in the world.”
  • Your next step of ministry should be your best step of ministry.
  • Big MO is the key.  Guess who is in charge of momentum?  The planter.
  • The most effective people are those that have the greatest understanding of themselves.
